Mein liebes Kind macht bisher noch keine Anstalten, seinen angestammten Platz zu verlassen… kann man aber auch verstehen bei dem Schietwetter. Da würd´ich auch lieber im lauschig-warmen bleiben.
My dear child seems not willing to make its appearance soon…which -regarding the weather- I can totally understand. I would prefer to stay in the safe and warm, too.
Und was tut man dann nicht alles, wenn man seeeeeeeeeeeeehr viel Zeit hat… Ich zum Beispiel habe mich mit meinem Erzfeind ausgesöhnt:

Wir führen einen seit Jahrzehnten (lies: Schulzeit) dauernden Kampf, der mit Unterfäden, Unverständnis und Verknotungen zu tun hat und mit großer gegenseitiger Antipathie einhergeht. Aber nach einer längeren Auseinandersetzung vorgestern haben wir unsere Differenzen tatsächlich bereinigt. Unsere Beziehung ist schon tragfähig genug um erste Früchte hervorzubringen:
We fought bitterly for centuries (read: since school days), having to deal with misunderstandings, lots of knots and way too many threads, resulting in a harsh antipathy on both sides. But after a long fight the day before yesterday we finally made up with each other. And already harvested the fruit of our new relationship:

Der, den wir zum Bettchen dazubekommen hatten, war grauenhaft gelb-kariert und ausserdem zu kurz für meinen Geschmack.
Der Stoff für den neuen ist von IKEA und passt viiiiiiiiiiel besser zu den Farben in Schlaf- und Kinderzimmer.
Hach Gott, bin ich stolz!

The one we first got with the crib was yellowish, just awful and way too short in my opinion.
I got the fabric for the new one at IKEA and this one goes soooooo much better with the colours in our bedroom and the babys room.
