Manche Sachen sind wie verhext und möchten wohl einfach nicht gestrickt werden…

In meinem Fall ist das der February Baby Sweater aus dem Knitters Almanac von EZ.

Zuerst habe ich ihn in einer moosgrünen Seide-Viscose-Mischung von Lang angeschlagen. Da dieses Garn sehr unelastisch ist, kam das Muster überhaupt nicht zur Geltung, und die kraus rechts gestrickte Rundpasse sah total schlabbrig aus.

Some things seem to be cursed and just don´t want to get knitted…

First I casted-on with a greenish silk-viscose-blend from Lang. The yarn is very inelastic and the pattern just didn´t look right. The garter stitch yoke looked very lumpy, too.

Also wurde geribbelt. Als nächstes habe ich es mit dem Restgarn vom Tilted Duster versucht. Das ist sehr lose gezwirnt, so sah das Muster auch nicht aus. Es gibt ja Leute, die klug genug sind, Probeläppchen zu stricken, bevor sie das ganze Teil anschlagen. Ich gehöre offensichtlich nicht dazu. Ribbel, ribbel, ribbel.

So I frogged. Next was the remaining yarn from the Tilted Duster. It is plied very loosely and did´nt suit the pattern as well. There are people bright enough to knit swatches befor casting-on the whole project. Obviously I´m none of them. Frog, frog, frog.

Dann habe ich eine butinette Schurwoll-Mischung ausprobiert (diesmal mit Probeläppchen). Sah gut aus, jubel, freu.

Nur musste Frau dann feststellen, dass davon nicht mehr genug im Vorrat ist und es höchstens zu kurzen Ärmeln reicht. Ist das nicht zum verzwazzeln?!!

Then I tried some butinette wool blend (and swatched!). Looked good, happy, joy.

But, I clearly do not have enough for the whole sweater. Short sleeves only. ARGH!
